Please refer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/foreign\/foreign.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSA\u2019s website\u00a0<i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i><\/a>\u00a0for a list of countries and the location of their servicing Federal Benefits Unit.<\/p>\n<p>The FBU is unable to answer inquiries related to visas, passports, registrations of birth, voting, and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Totalization Agreements prevent dual social security taxation on earnings. This situation happens when a worker from one country works in another country and is required to pay social security taxes toward both countries\u2019 social security systems.
