ANNOUNCEMENT: Effective July 15- Single Email Contact for ACS in the Philippines<\/h2>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Beginning July 15, 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Manila will consolidate all American Citizens Services (ACS) email correspondence under one address: ACSInfoManila@state.gov<\/a>. As part of this change, the dedicated email for the U.S. Consular Agency in Cebu (ACSInfoCebu@state.gov) will be deactivated.<\/p>\n

Services for U.S. Citizens<\/h2>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

The American Citizens Services (ACS) team in Manila and Cebu<\/a>\u00a0serves the large and geographically diverse U.S. citizen community in the Philippines. We\u00a0register births<\/a>, issue\u00a0passports<\/a>, and can assist in emergencies, such as the\u00a0death<\/a>,\u00a0arrest<\/a>,\u00a0hospitalization<\/a>, or\u00a0destitution<\/a>\u00a0of a U.S. citizen, during a\u00a0natural disaster<\/a>\u00a0or other crisis event, with issues involving\u00a0missing persons<\/a>\u00a0or children \u2013 including\u00a0international parental child abduction<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0adoption<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 and when a U.S. citizen is the\u00a0victim of a crime<\/a>\u00a0in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

We do not provide walk-in services;<\/strong> you must have an appointment to enter the U.S. Embassy in Manila or the U.S. Consular Agency in Cebu.<\/p>\n

The Department of State is committed to ensuring fair and humane treatment for U.S. citizens imprisoned overseas. We stand ready to assist incarcerated citizens and their families within the limits of our authority in accordance with international, domestic, and foreign law.<\/p>

When an U.S. citizen dies abroad, the Bureau of Consular Affairs assists the family and friends. The Bureau of Consular Affairs attempts to locate and inform the next-of-kin of the U.S. citizen\u2019s death. The Bureau of Consular Affairs provides information on how to make arrangements for local burial or return of the remains to the United States. The disposition of remains is subject to U.S. and local (foreign) law, U.S. and foreign customs requirements, and the foreign country facilities, which are often vastly different from those in the United States.<\/p>
